Built-Ins

Mahogany Library

This client wanted a small library to keep dust off their books with a matching desk opposite the cabinets. To maximize the desk space we built a Mahogany desktop that attached to the wall. It was the days when computers and printers were large and space consuming. She wanted a dark wood so I showed her samples with one side milled fresh and the other aged for 10 years, showing the oxidization and darkening.

Sometimes you run into situations where one person wants a modern look and the other wants a traditional look. in this case, the husband wanted European style cabinets (meaning no face frame), hardwood, full overlay doors and the wife wanted frame and panel doors with face frame cabinets. So we came to a compromise, and this was the result: full overlay frame and panel doors with European style cabinets to maximize space. the husband was also a baker and very tall. So I made him a rolling baking cabinet with a telescoping top. Don’t mind the mess, I came back to take pictures after the counters were installed and the this was the state of their new kitchen…

Cherry Kitchen

Often newly built homes, there are odd spaces left for the homeowner to do as they please. This 12' x 10' recess in the living room proved a perfect spot for an entertainment/storage unit. We used fogged glass on the two outside doors to hide their DVD collection.

Walnut Living Room Built-in

The woman that commissioned this didn't wanna pay for the retail version. So I built and installed it, then she painted it. There are also drawers under the stairs for toys. This picture is “in process”.
